Up at 5...

Updated this...

Later, on making it to the kitchen, this was the welcome sight that met me...

The pie!

Meg the Black Cat is off to the vet shortly to investigate increasing weight loss which may indicate her thyroid problems are making an unwelcome comeback...

We don't now exactly how old the wee monkey is but think it may be around 17 or 18...

Out and down the hill to the zoo - six miles walked today...

My soundtrack was Laurie Anderson's last album - often it's only when out walking that proper listening takes place - this is a quite brilliant LP which deserves a wider audience - but won't get it - there are so many like that these days...

So much music, so little interest...

Some say "if it's good enough, people will listen"...

I believe that to be rubbish...

Marketing is everything - are One Direction really better than Laurie Anderson?

Does the fact that more people listen to or are interested in one than are interested in or listen to the other really mean one is inherently "better"?

Of course not, musical taste is a subjective concept...

Although, in classical, "experts" will argue that if certain rules are followed, "good" music is automatically created - it may sound dreadful but it is fulfilling the theories...

There's a (in my opinion) "good" track on "Homeland" called "Only an Expert"...

I have no marketing - or very little - this blog is, I suppose, one way for me to market - so do take a wee listen to my music on Bandcamp...

Anyway, good skies at Haymarket in a view not often pictured...

Christmas is coming...

A promotional ice bear in William St was stopping the traffic...

..and was still there this evening as I passed again on the way home...

..having nipped to Fopp at lunchtime and partaken of three Miles Davis 2CD live sets at four squid each from their continuing "let's break up a box set" campaign...

A chance meet with Count Brodski - with chat and a half mile walk or so back to the West End of town...

A meet up soon in the offing with Dr Prog - who has decided he has no room for his collection of old LPs...

Christmas shopping also took place...

Meanwhile, the Exec Producer was off in Glasgow today for a well deserved good time (and to make some Christmas-related purchases) with best chum Lynn...

Consequently, this evening, the opportunity was taken to watch two episodes of "The Americans"...

Reasonable hokum - although, presumably based on real events or, certainly, the background events are real...

Strange times the late seventies and early eighties...

Anne arrived home just after nine with a number of bags of stuff...

Some telly - Lady Gaga impressed on Alan Carr's show and Cliff Richard impressed on Graham Norton's show - then lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Ice bear and Homeland...
