Discovering an album I didn't know existed...

A chance passage in the 70's rock book borrowed from the library yesterday, led me to search out and download an obscure 1971 album featuring then future Bob Ezrin assisting on albums by Alice Cooper, Lou Reed and Peter Gabriel guitarist, Steve Hunter...

It features Detroit's take on the Velvet Underground fave "Rock'n'Roll" and may well have been in David Bowie's collection shortly after its release, given that the cover of "It Ain't Easy" on his "Ziggy Stardust" album now appears to be a cover of the cover of the same song on Detroit's release...

Anyway, this led to much listening of albums featuring the other half of Ezrin's guitar duo, Dick Wagner...

This is how I waste my time...

Out into the Sunday sun...

...and a walk to our neighbours' restaurant, Fabio's...

...for a charity fund-raising coffee morning, at which much moolah was outlaid on home baking and raffle tickets...

A further walk back up the hill...

In the afternoon, Anne was off to Tynecastle, only to see her Jam Tarts thrashed 7-0 by Celtic in the Scottish Cup...

Oh well, it's only a game and 7-0 or 1-0, you're still out so, move on...

Meanwhile I spent the afternoon adding artwork to iTunes...

What a huge waste of time that'll be if I ever have to move to a new machine - the artwork isn't embedded into individual tracks but held independently and matched up...

Not to worry...

In the evening, "Strictly Results" and a very bad documentary on the excesses of rock on Channel 4 - the promise of Alice Cooper pulled us in...

It was truly dreadful and actually made me embarrassed to like the genre...

That's all I can recall really, as I write this two days later...

Just goes to show how inconsequential and forgettable the actions I take so much trouble to record here actually are...
