I went to the optician's at lunchtime to pick up Anne's contact lenses and took the opportunity for visits to both Fopp and HMV but did not buy anything...
In the evening, spent some time burning CDs and watching TV - "Question Time" and "This Week" both being dominated by the "phone hacking scandal" and the cynical closure of the "News of the World" (no doubt to be replaced shortly by "The Sunday Sun" or "The Sun on Sunday" or some such...
Funny how people would read the NOTW without caring a jot about how the salascious stories had been sourced - then, when this was revealed, they take the moral high ground...
When it comes down to it, it's the readers themselves who are the worst culprits here...
Before the closure announcement this afternoon, I actually heard someone interviewed on the radio say they weren't going to buy the NOTW - they were going to switch to...
