Not the best night's sleep I've ever had...

Didn't help that I didn't go to bed (I say "bed" I mean Pam's sofa) till 2:30am and that Pam came down at 8:30 and whacked the TV on...

Post breakfast, Pam - suitably dressed...

..and Sheila made their way to Tesco for provisions...

Mum and I stayed at home and mum read this blog for the first time...

The snow was coming down and it took an age for my sisters to return...

Mum snoozed while I watched Julia Bradbury and Al Murray's programmes on the BBC 4 Germany season via the I-Player...

The snow continued...

Sheila made soup for lunch and, post this, for some light relief from our rather too close knit family situation, I took a walk along the snowbound streets of Hemel Hempstead...

As I approached Pam's house again, I spotted chum Julie emerging from her car for a welcome visit...

This broke the day up nicely and, just after she left, Suzanne's husband Chris arrived to fit Pam's new banister - and an excellent job he made of it too..

Meanwhile, your correspondent was cooking diinner, Leek & Pancetta Risotto, as first concocted back in January this year...

Turned out nice and tasty - the finished article looked a lot better than the above...

In the evening we relaxed in front of the telly, mum and Pam catching up on Eastie and Corrie while I watched "Dirk Gently" and "The Drake Equation" on the I-Player and Sheila baked some lovely scones..

At 10, post "Have I Got News For You" and "Live at the Apollo" and with Sheila already snoring on the settee, I declared it time for bed and kicked them all upstairs, leaving me to enjoy another fairly sleepless night on the sofa...

Highlight of the Day : Home made stuff...
