Torke - Vanada Etc
Bootsy's Rubber Band - Ahh... The Name Is Bootsy, Baby!
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Underground Like Doug McClure (Demo)

Up at 5 and working on some DJ sets for next week...

Breakfast at home...

Wrote a song - "Underground Like Doug McClure" - which was deemed "no bad" - the start of the new LP?

We'll see...

Meanwhile Anne was doing the real work, helped by Tiger the Cat...

To the grocery store for provisions...

Unwrapped the garden table and chairs and lunched outdoors...

Lovely weather...

Your correspondent continued to work on DJ sets though, while Anne did some hoover-related stuff at her mum's and Queens drew 1-1 in Kirkcaldy, coming from behind - which is the best way to draw 1-1...

In the evening, out for dinner...

We walked down to local Indian Restaurant, Abida for some tasty fayre...

...and some mucking about...

...before walking back up the hill for the latest two episodes of "Follow the Money"...

Finished off the day with more musicking, listening back to the demo and it still sounded "ok"...

Which was good...

Meanwhile this was the random choice of the day...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : A wee night out / writing again...

Soundtracked by Grandaddy on a very pleasant day...

A walk to Fopp at lunchtime and some Szymanowski and Bootsy obtained at reasonable prices...

Trees on the way home...

...and sun...

...and a helicopter...

Very tasty lamb casserole from the talented EP...

Possibly slightly too much red wine enjoyed but, you know, it's Friday...

Here, the purchases...

Which were added to by these behind the door re a recent Torke-splurge...

Trying to entice Tiger the Cat into the house resulted in this - owyah!

And, finally, this randomly selected...

Eventually, the wine took its toll...

A good day nonetheless...

Down the front is sometimes the best place to be...

Playlist
Grandaddy - Last Place
Lou Reed - Sally Can't Dance
Various - Annees 80s Vol 2
Various Composers - The Pity of War
Alphaville - Forever Young

After last night's shenanigans with Dr Prog, tonight, with Anne off to see "the best ballet I've ever seen" the Northern Ballet's "Casanova" with chums Debbie and Teresa, I met up with Creeker and Jinglemeister Stu Cobley for the second time in a week...

Here, at the Mosque Kitchen for tea, he showed me how he listens to the CBQ podcasts...

An old man struggled to understand the concept...

On to Potterrow, for a long wait outside in the freezing cold...

...and another long wait inside - technical problems being the reason advised...

Finally in...

...and right down the front, as they say...

Pair of tubes...

Support act, Amber Arcades from Holland were "no bad"...

Then, the switcheroo...

...to tonight's headliners...

More delays as faulty leads on the bass and keyboards were identified and changed - anticipation mounted...

This, one the offending items...

Finally, probably around 90 mins late, we were all set...

A great performance from the five men of a certain age...

I was bouyed by the fact that the bass player played bass as I do - remaining on the root notes and no fancy runs...

The drummer was approximately 100 years old...

An hour and a half or so of top notch musicking - very enjoyable indeed opined your two idiots down the front...

With Anne having taken the car due to our late finish, Stu gave me a lift home...

Earlier in the day, I'd visited the shops at Tollcross and partaken of these three items for just two of your English pounds...

...while this was randomly generated from the pile of freebies...

"This Week" finished off an excellent day...
