Nephew Olly is now taller than I am...

Niece Kitty remains a loveable monkey...

BAck home for "Strictly" results and some piano music listening re a new box delivered while we were out...

Up not too early today and, outside, Rory Custard spotted in the garden...

...,sheltering from the weather...

Inside, the ripping project continued for much of the day...

...while the weather outside left much to be desired - these the views from the office this morning...

The day was spent inside - soup was concocted...

Anne did however venture out - but not, as expected, to Tyncastle - many games, including those of both Hearts and Queens, were postponed...

And so, coffee and cake were enjoyed as we caught up on more Tivo recordings...

...and watched some cheesy Xmas films on Channel 5...

Our simple decorations were put in place...

...and cards were written...

...and some relaxing was done...

In the evening, soup was enjoyed, as were "Strictly", two further episodes of "The Bridge III" and another excellent story from "Dr Who", with Clara Oswald brought back and released out into the universe in a stolen Tardis and the Doctor's mind wiped of the majority of his memories of her...

Obviously, if you don't watch "Dr Who" that will mean nothing to you - but it completes the circle nicely and explains how Clara appears throughout all the Doctor's timelines over the years - an idea first introduced with her introduction as the Doctor's companion...

If only Steven Moffat could write every script...

To bed...

Out briefly this morning...

...to Tesco, where I had a look at some things for my mum...

...and some things for me...

...and came away with some nice new in ear headphones - replacing the recently goosed RHA's...

A horrible wet and windy afternoon was shut out as we caught up on more Tivo'd TV including "Big Bang", "Josh" and "London Spy"  - the latter, latterly, getting into its stride at long last...

Also downloaded some 2015 releases to add to the collection...

A tasty chicken based tea and then on onto the night...

Approaching the end of my recuperation period now- on Sunday it will be five weeks since my release from hospital...

Of course, the pain is unfortunately likely to continue for months as my body gets back to "normal" inside...

But at least I am here and getting better...

Post breakfast and the latest episode of Matt Berry's excellent "Toast", we were off out into town, with me making arrangements for a return to semi-normality, followed by a fruitless trip to Fopp - walking a mile along Princes St to get there...

Meanwhile, Anne was more successful in her quests...

We met up at Fopp and walked back a different but similarly lengthed route to Chimichanga for a very tasty, late Mexican lunch (meaning no need for tea today)...

The San Pellegrino us mine - I have not had any alcohol since our last night in Bordeaux, six weeks ago today...

This is no bad thing and my weight is at its lowest now for a year - since last December's fall from grace - I am determined not to repeat that this year...

We were the only diners in the restaurant as the rain pelted down outside...

A bus to the top of the hill and wet walk down to Crispycat Towers...

The final three episodes of "River" were enjoyed, as was some other stuff which, 24 hours later, I have forgotten...

The ripping CDs project continued...

A little of "Question Time" was endured before "This Week", on which Jeremy Corbyn's brother, Piers, argumed well that Human Instigated Climate Change and Global Warning are a load of gravy train producing pish...

"THE CASE AGAINST MAN MADE CLIMATE CHANGE IS SIMPLE - IN 3 KEY ARGUMENTS:-

1. There is no evidence now and there never has been in real world data for CO2 levels controlling world temperatures.  In fact world temperatures are now falling (using accurate satellite data rather than UN fraud data see slide 6 in pdf below**) while CO2 levels are rising.

2. Man's CO2 flux in and out of atmosphere is only 4% of total. The idea that this dominates the other very variable 96% is deranged - slides 1+3 of pdf link above

The fact that termites produce ten times the CO2 equivalent of man means Obama and the Pope would do better at reducing CO2 by declaring WAR ON TERMITES.

Interestingly all Obama's wars hitherto have upset the stability of middle-east oil production to the benefit of USA oil production (the USA is now an energy exporter not net importer).

3. World sea temperatures control CO2 levels under basic laws of physics so over thousands of years sea temperatures (which follow solar activity) LEAD CO2 levels by some hundreds of years, see slides 7+8 in pdf. This is an observed fact.

In everyday life if you warm a glass of fizzy drink, CO2 comes off and if you cool it then it will absorb more CO2.

The deranged CO2 theory will have you believe that putting extra CO2 above a glass of drink (or anything) will warm it up.

Of course this idea is a deranged tail-wagging dog nonsense.

WeatherAction Challenges any and all to debate!"

Lights out...

Soundtracked this morning by 2015 releases on shuffleplay...

We went out in the wind and rain soundtracked by the latest from Alice Cooper's Hollywood Vampires...

...and brunched at the Piecebox...

The pain was counteracted by...

...the tastiness on offer...

On to my mum's for chat but no coffee or lunch required...

She enjoyed both post our departure...

Back home this finally arrived from New Jersey via Malmo...

Not sure whether to file it under jazz or classical...

In the afternoon, a couple of episodes of "River" were enjoyed...

Anne went to Zumba and I resumed a project which I probably won't ever finish - to ensure all CDs are ripped to a hard drive...

I had previously reached mid F of what are loosely described as "Rock & Pop" (i.e. anything that isn't jazz, classical or reggae) and am now progressing nicely...

On Anne's return, "Masterchef" was enjoyed, along with, later on, "Holby"...

Lights out...

I really cannot afford to let things slip re writing this up - a couple of days go by and I find it very hard to remember what happened - becauses, most days, nothing happens...

Today, we stayed in for the majority - awaiting delivery of a new washing machine...

Yesterday, I purchased this via Bandcamp and very good it is too - my 8th Sumner McKane title...

You can stream it for free at the Bandcamp link...

Mid afternoon, the awaited machine arrived and it is good...

The majority of the day was spent catching up on stuff on the Tivo box...
