Not looking forward to not being able to straighten...

Playlist

And the ninth month of 2025 slips away...

Up before 8 and away just after 8...

We drove for 45 minutes to Arnold Clark, only to find, in line with the fact that we were dealing with Arnold Clark, that our service had been booked into the wrong garage...

FFS...

At least Arnold Clark is already dead so that's something I suppose...

Rebooked at the correct site for a couple of weeks hence...

Drove to Portobello and found a new to us place, Otto, for breakfast...

Yumtastic...

But, is over £30 for breakfast justifiable?

Possibly...

A walk back to the car took us past quite a few now open charity shops...

Outside of one, a box of free books and CDs...

These were taken as offered...

This wall close to the car was admired...

Home around 11 and listening to the new acquisitions, the last of September...

Then, some filing and it was time to update the book, these the September intake...

Meanwhile, we are now both under the weather with Covid like symptoms, although nothing has been diagnosed...

Discussion via WhatsApp with keyboard player, Paul, re various ailments and he asked about my hand - which recently seized up a couple of times while playing with the band...

What I have is "Dupuytren's Contracture" or "Vikings' Disease" - lumps in my hand, for which there is no treatment as such, and which will mean that, eventually, I will not be able to straighten my fingers but, hopefully, that will be a good few years from now!

A couple of new things watched this afternoon - "Wayward" (a bit weird) and "Hotel Costiera" (a bit like "The Majorca Files"), plus two more "FBI"'s..

Fish and chips (and a lot of peas) for tea...

"Taskmaster", then, listening to music - a concert disc by John Coltrane, recorded 60 years ago tonight!

...and writing this up, while Anne enjoyed "Bake Off"...

Getting ahead of the game...

Over and out pre 10pm...

Highlight of the Day : Breakfast...

An old man bellowing into the night

Playlist

Monday again...

First thing, "Forest Ascent" work - creating the bonus material for Friday's release and writing up the notes too...

It really is rather a splendid LP, which, no doubt, will be roundly ignored...

Sent it all to Robert Scott Thompson for his approval - confirming later the link works...

Some "Strand" listening - a recent sale on Bandcamp reminded me of how good it also is...

Podcast uploaded and all the notes for it re featured artists, track listing and source recordings done...

Laborious...

Dairy, i.e. this, updated for the last 4 days...

Laborious...

Was supposed to meeting up with old chum Sid Smith today as he'd be back in town, post Saturday's Stewart Lee related visit, for tonight's Peter Hammill concert...

Alas, circumstances meant he could no longer come...

He very kindly donated his ticket to me...

Spent some considerable time thereafter, listening to Peter Hammill - including filling ratehr a few PH shaped holes in my collection...

Anne was shopping, B&Qing, Mumming etc...

On her return, lunch and a couple of "FBI"'s...

Later on, Anne went to Pilates...

I was feeling not too great but managed to "cook" this...

Meanwhile, Robert had put this around his Social Media people - let's see...

Just after six, Anne returned and it was into the car for me and into town for the show...

Met Dr Prog in the queue and also saw Count Brodski passing one of the auditorium doors - he confirmed his attendance later tonight, post gig...

The view from the office this evening...

"An old man bellowing into the night" would be my headline...

Five songs at the piano...

Six songs with his guitar...

Another six songs (including encore) at the piano...

All over after an hour and 35 minutes...

9 months younger than Alice Cooper...

A superb performance.  Enthralling, engaging, and, at times, absolutely horrendous...

Peter "Bellowing" Hammill indeed...

A brief chat with the Doc post show and a drive home for two more "FBI"'s before bed...

Highlight of the Day : Mr Hammill...

Stewing and podcasting...

Playlist

Sunday...

A day, mostly, of working on the podcast...

87 tracks all in all were considered...

I decided to widen the podcast to 36 tracks from 25 but remained committed to the format of 7 LPs of the Day, 7 old LPs of the Day, 2 CBQ things, any notable singles and an eclectic selection taking up the rest of the places...

Anne spent around 4 hours making a caserole thing, which was supremely tasty...

In the evening, football highlights, "FBI" and listening back to the podcast, ensuring all was ok for it to be uploaded tomorrow...

Weekend over once again...

Highlight of the Day : Anne's stew...

Not a right wing Netflix $ Million Comedian....

Playlist

Up and. surprisingly, not hungover...

I did not rise till 9 though...

Two good things watched this morning, at the end of each, I seemed to have something in my eye...

The Xmas Special of "Brassic" and the first in the new series of "All Creatures Great and Small"...

This afternoon, fell asleep listening to Alistair Cooke's letters from America, bought yesterday...

Cut it fine to get to the place we'd booked for dinner with Lynn and Ross tonight...

My timing wasn't helped by roadworks holding everything up...

Anne was coming straight from Tynecastle having witness a 3-0 table topping performance from Hearts against Falkirk (Queens lost again - they have no more points than they did when they topped the table a couple of weeks back - and are now 7th)...

Anyway, I managed to arrive just 4 minutes late and before the other three so not a disaster...

Top notch unpictured burgers enjoyed with (unpictured Lynn and Ross) at Jeremiah's Tap Room...

Then, a walk through the rain to the Playhouse...

...for Stewart Lee Vs The Man-Wulf...

...a top two hours of comedy...

Turned out our old chum Sid Smith was also in attendance but we did not know till we were home...

I opined that Mr Lee was, despite the overall subject matter, the most upbeat I think I’ve ever seen him...

A top night indeed!

Drinks afterwards at Mathers on Broughton St and who should pop in?

Busses home for everyone and bed at gone midnight...

Highlight of the Day : Stewart Lee...
