It's Sunday (it says here - it's actually next Saturday)...

First thing, I am working on something new...

I have accepted an invitation to perform my "non-song" material (it will be the first time I've done this) next year, in Newcastle...

So, I fired up the machines and created something from scratch on the CS5 synth - in a "live concert" stylee...

...before breakfast...

Of course, then I had to make it more complicated by introducing various loops I had on the hard drive...

...which I wouldn't do at a performance...

Before I knew it, I had "accidentally" created the first track for what may be yet another new LP, "The Dark Room" (title from Eno's 19965 diary entry for 2 April)...

Around 12:30, it was to be found soundtracking part of our bus trip to that Glasgow...

...which, of course, involved a "quick" visit to Missing...

...from were a few "bargains" were picked up...

Total outlay? £4...

Turns out I have a CD of this already when I thought I only had a burn - on the upside, the packaging is slightly different...

Erm...

I also already have this on CD but, crucially, not this "book" format with the DVD with 4 extra tracks - justified"!

This was still shrink wrapped and is a nice live CD recorded at Canadian, or Manitoban even, house concerts a few years back - at the counter, the man opined it was very good, as he too had it.  He is right...

Paid £6 for this 10CD box only to discover during my post purchase, pre shop exit, check, that there were only 9 CDs in the box...

Expecting perhaps a quid back, the man (the same man) opened the till an reimbursed the full £6 saying "just keep it, I can't sell it"...

Back home, I was able to recreate the missing disc via downloads...

This is a fine wee selection of 1960-1962 ska stuff..

...while this does what it says on the tin...

Took a chance on this as there were no details on the cover or disc as to who was playing etc - turns out to be a classic session by Alla Rakha and Vijay Raghav Rao...

Met up again with Anne, seen here coming out from under the railway bridge at Central Station, having bought something she likes...

A wait outside Nando's for nephew Olly, then to Blok+ for some pre dinner drinks with the boy - who, post the recent Scotland v Cyprus game, was running home and fell over, bashing his face off the ground...

Alcohol was apparently involved...

Two young ladies entertained...

A short walk from there to Rishi's provided next weekend's podcast cover pic...

...passed a school named after Jorgo Borgo's daughter...

...and Olly's late night haunt of choice, the basement bar of Howlin' Wolf...

The Dosas did not disappoint...

Let's have a look inside...

...and the curries were up to the usual excellent standards...

Then, bidding farewell to the boy, we walked to the Garage...

Don't think I've been here since this night in 2008...

This evening, it was not a raucous  heavy metal concert, rather, comedy from the hilarious, Rich Hall...

Stand up for the first half, followed by country & western songs with his three piece band in the second, the lyrics for the songs seemingly, for the most part, made up on the spot depending on what hapless members of the audience revealed about themselves when asked by this top notch entertainer...

Although tempted, we did not purchase his book at this point...

A long walk back to the bus station...

...and an hour or so journey home...

The lurgi are definitely starting to take hold...

Straight to bed on arrival...

A good day nonetheless - creating, visiting, comedying...

Highlight of the Day: Rich Hall
