Up pre 7, Creek having entertained overnight...

All was quiet downstairs - Xmas well and truly over with all the cards and decorations gone...

Cats fed...

Coffee cooked...

On their last day, Mia was looking out for her mum and dad, who were now back from the Canaries...

Last of the New Year provisions for breakfast...

Anne packed up all the cat stuff - Niko made sure it was all there...

While we waited for Abbie and Blair to arrive, I chose a couple of things to listen to in the back room, via a random number generator...

Selected from the whole of the room...

A set of shelves chosen...

A shelf chosen...

A row chosen...

A title chosen (bought in Munich on our second last visit there, back in 2013)...

A disc from the box chosen...

A work chosen...

...and played - and found to be good...

Niko enjoyed it too, from his various vantage points...

A second disc selected from the room...

Shelf unit...

Somehow, the generator avoided 21 Uriah Heep titles and came up with this...

...the original LP was an Xmas present received in 1980, back when U2 were, subjectively, good...

Out around midday, as Bob came to pick Anne up for the two of them to take a walk through the Pentland Hills...

Anne does not take photos...

Meanwhile, I drove to Morningside for a look around but could find nowhere to park...

So I drove on over to Portobello, to the shop where I picked up quite a lot of top notch jazz titles a few weeks back...

Nothing there now of course...

But, in a nearby place, I found these reasonably tasty items for a quid each...

On the way back, I stopped in on my mum...

She's trying to get her doctor to visit to attend to an infection she's had for far too long now...

We are both looking forward to the visit of the hearing aid man on Friday too...

She was glad of my pop in...

Home to listen and rip...

Turns out I already have this - but with a different sleeve and the previous version is an enhanced CD - released in 1999 (this is from 1998)...

Oh well, for a pound, who's complaining?

A good mix...

A tasty title...

And another good reggae collection...

This evening, extremely tasty ravioli for tea from the EP...

And some telly was watched (the return of "Holby City" after a couple of weeks off) and some music was listened to - the new discs and recently downloaded stuff from 1964...

Lights out...

Holidays over...

Highlight of the Day : Ravioli...
