Not to bad an up time...

...for a day...

...soundtracked by...

No, wait, breakfast first...

...then records, chosen at random as I caught up with the turntabling...

As you can see this is from the Exec Producer's teenage collection...

The only LP from David Byron's post Uriah Heep band, with Clem Clempson and Geoff Britten...

Yes's debut from 1969...

I think I got this in a 3 for £1 bundle back in the mid 70s.  Plays ok though (but, obvs, not as nice-sounding as the CD)...

Just noticed the original owner looks to have added their name to the list of "thank yous"...

It is one "Iain Millar"...  Are you out there?

Bought in Paris in 1982 along with their previous LP - just on the off chance they might be good - I'd never heard of them.  Have heard nothing of them since either but held onto the LPs for nearly 40 years...

Actually a pretty good album all told. Most likely the packaging gave it a little bit of a disadvantage at the time...

A little more happening on this album than others by Hans-Joachim around this time re his Self Portrait trilogy...

Still nice today...

Lunchtime, accompanied by a magpie...

Then, back to the records...

Featuring pieces by Mysliveček, Martinů, Schulhoff, Teml, Nudera and, erm, "Anonymous", this is a tasty wee record - one of my last vinyl purchases to date...

Bought on release with much anticipation and then, on first listen, thoughts of, "Wait, Crimso have been reborn as Talking Heads?"

A magnificent return which has stood the test of 39 years' time (so far)...

The second collaboration between the Police's Andy Summer's and Crimson's Fripp...

Recorded not long after the above album...

Dick Wagner's Frost - one of my favourite late 60's albums.  Managed to pick up the CD on our American Tour in 1999...

And, last record for today, a three LP set bought in Berchtesgaden on a school trip in the summer of 1974...

It is indeed an eclectic selection...

Oooh - a poster too - I'd forgotten about that...

Meanwhile, Anne had been doing something more constructive...

...and then, in the evening, further soundtracking, this time re the Twitterati's random choices for the podcast...

..and compiling a playlist of 10 "good" classical pieces - taking the easy option by choosing solely form this box set...

..of the Belgian public's choices from a few years ago...

Meanwhile, this brought a smile to my face...

Luckily, I have no children...

Highlight of the Day : Catching up with some records...
