Up but not too early...

Niece Kitty's birthday today, 16 - unbelievable...

But, for now, to more 7" playing...

One of my favourites - the summer of 1973 and this absolute cracker from Dunfermline's finest (apart from the Skids of course LOL) who also recorded the best ever version of Joni Mitchell's "This Flight Tonight"...

Coincidentally, it turns out this was brother in law Keith's first ever single...

Good choice...

I used to occasionally buy import singles and this was one. It's always had a couple of annoying jumps, so just as well I have it on CD.  A couple of years ago I stumbled across the original by The Cadets on a Doo Wop compilation. I prefer this of course..

I recall making the cover for this whilst being off School ill....  I seem to remember I was not actually ill..  Absolutely love this track...

Bought in a flea market in Amsterdam in late 1982 I think. My first real Michael Nyman exposure (apart from Eno's Obscure album, which I think I already had at that point but which had not really registered with me yet). Been a fan since...

My late sister Pam's record. Was a secret fan of this from the first time I heard it and was blown away but, as an Alice Cooper fan, I could not acknowledge that.   Miserable attempt by a 13 yr old me at drawing a horse also included for your entertainment...

Actually, that might well be Pam's horse...

For prog fans everywhere. A cheeky wee Italian delight, although sung in English...

The "follow up" to the number one single "Another Brick in the Wall pt 2". This had, quite frankly, zero chance of charting.  I still love it though - Waters at his miserable best....

Another import. 7" edit versions of "Time" and "Us and Them". On "Time" the ticking and big synth bass notes from the start come back in at the end, which makes for a different listen - the guitar solo is also expertly edited.  Nice record...

Another one from Anne's collection. Cozy Powell showing that Greg Lake wasn't the only one from Emerson, Lake and Powell who could have solo hits...  Nice drawing by the way - puts my horse on "Crazy Horses" to shame...

Quite possibly the best record released in 1967...  This is the re-release from 1973 tho, a hit again - just like the Moodies...

Also has the old DDHR don't try to steal this at a party engraving on the run out...

Final 7" for today - the first record I ever bought - August 1970...

Keith's choice was better I think, even if I was three years ahead of the game...

Breakfast...

...before some LPs were played - these are three of only 42 in my collection which I don't yet have digitally...

Palais Schaumburg, post the departure of Holger Hiller...

Richard Pinhas aka Heldon...

Mittagspause. Connected to both Fehlfarben and DAF...

Freeform improv guitar n drums. Very good indeed. Stefan Jaworzyn and Tony Irving. Recorded in 1994. Don’t recall when or where I bought this...

Then, out to Roslin through the sotrm for today's session...

No agenda - I just went round the band, five times in all, and asked them to pick a song for us to play...

Considering a couple hadn't been on the set list for almost a year, it was a great enjoyable session with few mistakes...

I think the boys had fun...

Of course Keith moved his head during this pano shot...

The next session was arranged...

Then takedown and a drive back over to Anne's mum's for Kitty's birthday tea...

I couldn't really wish for a better niece...

Home for "Dr Who" and "Star Trek" a Sunday evening Science Fiction double bill...

Tasty end to the weekend...

Highlight of the Day : Musicking...
