A busy day - up early and outside to record the links for this week's podcast...

Back inside and editing the chat and putting it together and getting it uploaded...

Breakfast at home...

Breakfast too provided for our feathered friends...

Despite the scorching weather, with Anne out watching Hearts lose 3-1 at home to Scotchland's newest club (Queens beat Dunfermline 2-1 at home - much needed), I stayed in and ran through the proposed CBQ possible live set which will most likely never be played live...

I also played through a few covers which might be played tonight at chum Ali from Impossible Songs' 60th birthday party in North Queensferry...

I also took the opportunity to learn Elvis Costello's song "Alison", with which to possibly serenade the birthday girl...

Over the bridge for 7:30 and good to see loads of old chums...

The main event was Taiko Drumming...

Very loud and very impressive...

And then the guests were allowed a go...

John watched with pride as Ali tried her hand at the rhythmic stuff...

Also here, Tommy Mackay, Norman Lamont, James Igoe and Fiona Thom - Out of the Bedroom stalwarts all...

Your correspondent also had a go, alongside Jim White...

In fact, everyone interested had a turn...

Finally, Ali was star of the show...

...and blew out a candle per decade...

The venue afforded excellent views of the Queensferry Crossing...

Later on, post tasty food and more drinks, it kind of turned into Out of the Bedroom...

Several singing chums were set to play a few songs and I too had been afforded a 3 song slot...

However, things came to an abrupt end following a bit of an accident involving John and a slippery bathroom floor, an early finish and a night spent at A&E in Kirkcaldy resulting in this...

Owyah!

In conversation with Tommy Mackay, I learned he's following up his book on The Fall with one on Sparks...

He had not heard of the Gleaming Spires - basically Sparks without the Mael Brothers in their 1982-1985 format...

I thought I had a couple of their LPs and, right enough, on returning home, I was able to send him this...

Lights out on a busy Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : Celebrating...

Late in the day with this but some super pics of the event, thanks etc. P.S. I got the staples out of my heid today, all fine (apart from the usual rubbish that's built up inside in the last 64 years).
