Fela Kuti - The Best Of The Black President
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Betonmusik 2015
Various Composers - Earle Brown Contemporary Sound Series
Electric Light Orchestra One Summer Dream : The Singles Collection 1972-78
Enjoyed Fela Kuti this morning and also listened back to daily "field recordings" I'm making, mostly around the house, re a possible 2015 CBQ project...
Also enjoyed 60s/70s avant garde classical borrowed from the library...
Out for breakfast provisions and lunch at home too...
In the early afternoon, we very much enjoyed the James Bond film "Casino Royale", intending to shortly partake too of its follow ups, "Quantum of Solace" and "Skyfall"...
We set off to my mum's around 3, noting the last vestiges of snow in the garden...
These two pics admirably illustrate the palpable excitement of our visit, at which we were joined once again by Senior (pictured) and sister Sheila (not pictured)...
My mum was once again the (almost) unwitting subject of some blurry portraits...
A fence was "fixed" before Sheila and Andrew went off to do mum's shopping, with us exiting shortly afterwards to make our way to Anne's mum's, where the Sunday family visits continued...
Good flowers on the stairs...
Niece Kitty was ill and Bobby had stayed at home with her...
Nephew Olly and I drove to The Curry House to pick up a voluminous takeaway, Anne's mum this week having undergone a similar eye op to those my mum had in 2013 and last year and so taking a break from cooking...
Looking good just a few days after her op though...
With no sign on the USB sticks onboard the Cloudland Blue mobile of Alice Cooper's "Dead Babies", our usual takeaway pick up soundtrack, we drove back to the house singing along to a mutual fave, ELO's "Mr Blue Sky", at the tops of our voices, including full harmonies of course...
This, despite Olly's mum later opining that I must, in fact, be devoid of any musical talent, as I remain patently unsuccessful as a songwriter...
Rather harsh...
I countered that, due to my lack of success and therefore not being reliant on music to bring home the proverbial bacon, I can play whatever I want...
Weak riposte I know - I need to write some songs that One Direction might sing...
Back home, we enjoyed "Death in Paradise", Greg Davies' "The Back of My Mum's Head" and something else which escapes my ever worsening memory...
Lights out post more tuneless contemporary classical music...
Highlight of the Day : A very spicy tea...
