Enjoyed the soundtrack to "2001" today - a great mix of Richard and Johann Strauss with the modernity of Ligeti...

First offline purchases of the year took place today at Fopp, comprising a 2CD set of 45 tracks from the vaults of Satellite, later Stax, Records, along with two concert DVDs, ELP at Montreux in 1997 and Lou Reed at the Bottom Line in New York in 1983...

...at which point he was 41, 15 years younger than I am now, and had 30 years to live...

A good concert, featuring Robert Quine, Fernando Saunders and Fred Maher - the sound quality was not the best but a great example of two guitars, bass and drums rock'n'roll...

Meanwhile the Exec Producer had spent the day in town with chum Debbie, lunching and purchasing...

"The Musketeers" was a good adventure tonight then, some time spent on a new project - ensuring all single composer discs are on my hard drives...

Like all such projects I start, I suspect it will not reach a satisfactory conclusion...

Some lovely Bach enjoyed this evening though as a consequence...

Out of nowhere, some 1968 Albert Ayler entered the fray...

Not great...

And so it goes...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Lou Reed live...
