Up late and updating this…

Post breakfast, drove into Edinburgh, parking in the West and walking over to the East to meet with Dr Prog at the Record Fair...

A lovely, bright morning...

Through Charlotte Square...

...and along George Street...

...past one of the Exec Producer's fave shops...

...through St Andrew Square...

...where the Tram may one day run...

...and to the Fair where Dr Prog purchased a 10cc DVD, while I partook of discs by Alice Cooper and Talk Talk...

Bumped into Bert Muirhead, once of Hot Wax and one of the legendary record dealers of Scotland, nay the UK...

Although not now in the best of health, he advised he is doing OK and feeling better than he has done...

Which is good...

He continues to deal, on e-bay, on Amazon or anywhere else he can...

He asked if I was still "collecting" - I advised I don't "collect", I just buy - and he advised he does the same - it seems we are both afflicted with the same music acquirement disease - while Dr Prog is a Spotify and Deezer subscriber and hardly buys CDs any longer...

He does, however, buy 10cc DVDs...

Back out into the day and the Doc was looking very handsome...

..as we made our way down Leith Walk, stopping off at Vinyl Villains, where an Alexisonfire (featuring Dallas Green of City and Color) disc was purchased...

Past the one time home turf of David 14 Cassettes, forerunner of Reptile Records and Crispycat Recordings...

...and to an impressive wee cafe which entertained us mightily by having free improv jazz on their sound system...

...which the Doc tried in vain to recognise...

Post sustenance, on down Leith Walk to Elvis Shakespeare where discs of Stravinsky/Falla and baroque guitar were acquired for just 50p each...

Time to bid farewell to Phil Prog and I walked back to the car past all the streets which lead south off George...

...and back through Charlotte Square...

...along Melville Street...

...to the Cloudland Blue Mobile's parking spot...

A drive out to Loanhead to visit my mum and see that all is well with her, which it was...

She has started physiotherapy for her shoulder pain and advised (as always) "you don't know what it's like, son"...

But, of course, I do in this instance...

Back home for a quick turnaround (while keeping an eye on the footie as Queens drew 0-0 at home to Alloa and Hearts drew 2-2 away to Ross County) and out again with the Exec Producer down the hill to the bus and back to the top of Leith Walk, scene of music purchasing just a couple of hours before...

A lovely meal at Mama Roma as guest of a large Edinburgh based company...

Then, over the road to the Playhouse for the "Rat Pack Spectacular" - a tribute gig, if you will, featuring songs by Sinatra, Martin and Davis jnr...

Reasonably entertaining but not too spectacular...

One of the oldest audiences of which we have ever been part...

An entertaining evening nonetheless, rounded off with drinks at The Dome and a taxi home...

Another busy Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : A good night out...
