Changing the format...

Playlist
Various - Last 12 Months Acquisitions
Various - Blue Note Compilations

Much of today was spent mucking about with the look and design of this...

Meg the Black Cat wasn't much help...

Anne and I did however venture out in the late morning for a wee walk and an enjoyable breakfast at Jacob's...

Stopped off at Jane and Bobby's on the way home as today is niece Kitty's ninth birthday - she was just one when this diary commenced...

In the afternoon, more mucking about, including ensuring all Blue Note compilations are ripped to a hard drive...

In footie, Anne reported Hearts thumped 3-1 away at Dundee Utd - as ever, some dodgy decisions by the ref (including a sending off) did for the Jam Tarts - while Queen of the South's inexorable march to the 2nd Division title continued with a 2-1 win at home to the mighty Stenhousemuir, while nearest rivals, Count Brodski's Alloa Athletic, only managed a 2-2 draw thanks to a 92nd minute equaliser...

An Indian takeaway (best balti ever I opined) accompanied an evening of, mostly, TV - with a documentary on satellites, Howard Goodall's new series on music (BBC Four - best channel on the box) being caught up with on the Tivo...

"Whatever music you're into, Monteverdi or Mantovani, Mozart or Motown, Masho or Mashup, the techniques it relies on didn't happen by accident, someone, somewhere thought of it first."

...and the first two episodes of the fourth series of French police drama, "Spiral"...

Somehow, we've managed to miss the third series in its entirety...

Having done some research as to why that might be, I now realise we only got "into" "Spiral" in the autumn of 2011, when the first series was repeated - the never repeated third series had been shown that spring...

We watched the repeat of the second series last summer...

Meanwhile, the Goodall programme, which was excellent, led me to download the accompanying podcasts on the BBC website, along with 50 15 minute or so programmes on 20th century classical pieces...

Not a busy day by any means, with the emphasis on sitting about not doing too much really...

Highlight of the Day : Discovering new stuff on Radio 3...
