Better weather...
Other than the Feldman quartet - which I spent some considerable time with last week - and the on its way from America, Helikopter Quartett by Stockhausen - today I finished off the listening to and enjoying of, the 21 quartets which comprise my self made "History of the String Quartet from Haydn to Feldman"...
I must say that, compared to the craftsmanship of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Mendelssohn, frankly, Mr Feldman's quartet amounts to six hours of tuneless rubbish...
But, given the right circumstances, it is brilliant...
That's the weird thing about music...
Home - weather held...
Spent some time this evening finalising stuff for the upcoming trip to London and Lille...
I will spend some time solo in London pre the French visit...
The Exec Producer executively produced an upgrade re my proposed accommodation, despite my protestations that going without the most basic of amenities would give me nearly £50 to spend on CDs - in fact it would almost cover the cost of the two day Experimental Music Festival which is drawing me to London...
No doubt though, once there, as ever, I will see that she is right and I am wrong...
Also, firmed up details with Jamie and Keith and Capital Models reconvene next Friday for rehearsing and recording...
An enjoyable day all told...
Highlight of the Day : Finalising stuff and being executively produced...
