Up and last minute prep re the trip to Alnwick and environs this weekend...

After compiling a couple of MP3 sticks for the car, we said goodbye to Meg the Black Cat...

...and left under blue skies...

...to pick up, firstly, birthday girl, Anne's mum..

Then, across town, brother-in-law Keith...

In around two hours or so, we arrived at the cottage, which was kind of in the middle of nowhere between Alnwick and the very small coastal village of Craster...

We set about getting things sorted out (well, the others did - I took the pics)...

The views were good...

...and the kitchen was large...

We waited for the others to arrive...

Firstly, the Gourlay clan - Jane, Bobby, Ollie and Kitty...

The red wine was opened...

The views continued to be good...

Dinner was prepped...

..and the kids settled in...

After problems with a wayward computer system on board, most of the rest of Keith's party arrived - Maureen with daughters Rebecca and Abby with their respective young men, Murray and Ryan...

A slap up feed was enjoyed...  

...and plans were made for the next couple of days...
