Another rainy day - rained all day again...

Consequently, Meg the Black Cat stayed in, bored...

Yesterday I said I probably didn’t need any more CDs...

Today, at the local Cancer Hospice shop however, I got three for a donation of five pounds – a disc of Piano Studies written by Conlon Nancarrow – played on a “piano-player machine” – this was an early form of music programming – Nancarrow punched the holes himself into the paper rolls which then allowed the piano machine to play his music....

It would take him months of painstaking planning to produce just a few muinutes of music...

Fascinating stuff – even although his music is unlikely to be heard outwith “Difficult Listening Hour”...

Making up the trio were a disc of English poems set to music by Carla Bruni – prior to her becoming first lady of France (sounds better than that sounds) – and a 2CD collection of works by Sibelius...

Home, and a quick listen through, before driving over to Dunfermline to meet up with the Exec Producer and chums Chris-with-a-ch and Ferret along with Lesley, Angie and Kerry – to celebrate Chris’ birthday...

...at, firstly the Seven Kings and then, Kushi’s...

Kerry, Angie, Me, Annie and Chris in the lamp, with Ferret and Lesley below the lamp...

A tasty meal was enjoyed in good company...

Almost everything was polished off...

Straight home though, rather than on for more drinks – Cup Final Day tomorrow...

Highlight of the Day : Out with chums...
