Couldn't sleep...

Up and listening to Wizzard, in honour of my first ever gig attendance, 45 years ago yesterday...

Finalised the content of this week's podcast but couldn't do the links as Anne was still sleeping...

Instead, brought the Red Books of CDs I Own up to date...

Before...

...after...

Some talk on Twitter too of the first Gentle Giant LP people onwed...

I bought this in Deja Vu second hand on 4 December 1976 for £1.55 - which is £10.40 in today's money...

Breakfast with Annie...

...and a look at the table re possible leaving uncovered scenario - sadly, just too many cat scratches in view (unseen here though)...

Very enjoyable "Father Brown" episodes enjoyed...

In the afternoon, a concerted effort to find the tape of my 2nd ever attended concert, Uriah Heep in Edinburgh in 1974...

Much looking through boxes of stuff...

Finally though...

It will be a delicate operation to digitise this - A greek guy on Facebook who is an archiver of all things Heep views this recording as one of his "Holy Grails", so I'll do what I can...

Also found this in my diary for 1977 - need to try and find those pics for him - the autographs though? Hmmm...

Inthe evening, outside to see Fang the Black Cat on the garage roof - his first appearance near our house since his contretemps with our visiting cats almost a month ago...

Good to know the wee man is ok...

A lift from Anne to a Bowling Club in Davidson's Mains for tonight's MB5s annual awards do re the 5 a sides "club" I set up back in 1982 - I've not playeed  for a few years now though I refereed a match between the Old Skool (still all about 30 years younger than me) and the New Skool last year...

There were over twenty awards to get through - the best part are all the comments anonymously submitted with people's nominations...

To be clear, Player of the Year is the person who garners the most awards on the night - and most of the awards are negative - such as player most likely to shoot and hit the roof...

Much hilarity ensued along with free food and drink, provided for by "The Kitty"...

Everyone took their turn to read out an award...

Unpictured Mick and (especially flown up from England) Lloyd...

Gav...

Ryan...

Stu...

Ed...

Steve...

Grant...

Half way through, Jambo Dave turned up, the worse for wear re his attendance at the rugby this afternoon...

Like me, he has not played for a good while now...

...also arriving tardily due to a trip to see his bepved Rangers in Kilmarnock, Nigel - after me now the longest serving player still playing...

And Jim Park, who I'd thought was in Manchester arrived too...

Always great to see Jimbo...

At half time, food was served, the handiwork of chef and current MB5s organiser, (unpictured for some reason?) Mick...

Then, a surprise...

A speech (impromptu due to working on his flat he advised) from Jim and a presentation to me as "Godfather" of the guys...

Very touching and much appreciated...

At the end of the evening, the results were totted up and it was a tie at 3 awards each between last year's Player of the Year Stu and Grant...

On a secret ballot on the night, Grant win by just one vote...

Good times...

A bade the boys farewell and from Whatsapp evidence they continued well into the night...

A lift home around midnight from the EP not too the worse for wear...

Highlight of the Day : Finding a tape and being given an award...
