Done by 8...

So far, all these LPs have been featured in 2019...

On the Twitter, ex-Bad Plusser, Ethan Iverson, turned me on to the Brecker Brothers - an album downloaded and a CD ordered...

On the Youtube, this put things into perspective...

Hmmm...

As Freddie Mercury once sang, "Nothing really matters..."

Also, extolling the virtues of the four Tangerine Dream "Sessions" recently acquired, even if the band does have a bit of Ship of Theseus scenario going on....

Prior to going out, Anne advised of two worthwhile stories - the fact that horseflies land less on a stripey-horse which has been disguised as a zebra....

...and the story of a young boy in World War Two who, with his friends in a Sheffield park saw a US bomber fly over and thought the crew were waving to them - in reality they were trying to get the boys out of the way so that they could carry out an emergency landing on open land...

With the boys failing to understand what was going on, in order to avoid them, the plane crashed into a nearby wood and all ten crew were killed....

The boy has felt guilty about this ever since and daily tends a memorial he set up in the park...

A BBC reporter happened upon the now 80 odd year old man one day in the park and discovered his story...

This week, a fly past of UK and American aircraft took place over the park and thousands of people turned up...

Now, if that doesn't bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what would...

The full story is here...

Around 10, out on a mystery tour to take the EP for a tasty breakfast...

To Linlithgow, and Cafe Bar 1807..

Lovely coffee...

Lovely surroundings...

Tasty breakfasts...

And, next door at Oxfam, all of these for under a fiver...

To make matters "worse", this was behind the door as we arrived back around midday - the first of a few Gulda discs splurged on last week...

Some ripping and listening was undertaken...

As well as investigating online lyric generators - to little avail...

Then, again, playing through some of the songs for tomorrow...

Anne headed to Tynecastle for today's 1-1 draw with St Mirren - in Dumfries, Queens came back from 1-0 down against Alloa, only to lose to a 93rd minute goal...

Looking at my diary for 1974, on this weekend 45 years ago, i bought a few singles...

David Bowie "Rebel Rebel", Wings "Jet", Mott the Hoople "All the Young Dudes", Wings "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and a Yes 33 and 1/3rd single of "And You and I" & "Roundabout"...

I have a vivid memory of being alone in the house that night as my mum and dad were out for a drink with our neighbours at a nearby hotel...

Yes was blasting out over the sound system...

Some unsuccessful research on creating successful playlists...

Anne returned for a quick turnaround and headed out to see the BalletBoyz with Teresa...

I took the opportunity to watch "X-Men : Days of Future Past" which was quite good - my first X-Men watch...

Some sorting out of equipment for tomorrow - including mic-adaptor chat with guitarist Stu...

Then, Mr Iverson has also been banging on on the Twitter about how Miles Davis' "In a Silent Way" isn't quite as good as people say - he prefers "Round Midnight" - so I gave them both a listen - and enjoyed both...

Some more quiet singing and then Anne arrived home...

We watched for the first time, "The Greatest Dancer" - as fifteen year old, Ellie Fergusson, who dances at a school in our area of Edinburgh, won the £50,000 prize and does seem an exceptional talent...

Te same age at which I was buying singles and blasting them out in an empty house...

Her dedication has paid off...

Here she is two and a half years ago, at 12 and a half...

Next week I'll be working on the music for Niece Kitty's annual dance show...

Let's see...

To bed at 11, after a long day...

Highlight of the day : Breakfast with Anne...
