A lovely day today (but no pics of the sunshine), which started with an early rise and finishing off and uploading this week's podcast...

Switching music around between the iPod and iPhone - the latter having extremely disappointing storage space - I can only get around 20 of my latest CD purchases onto it...

However, it did mean that I could get all 2,827 tracks played in my podcasts over the last couple of years onto the iPod in preparation for tonight's visit by Impossible Songs to Crispycat Towers...

Organisation of Bluetooth link ups was also required re the new living room speakers...

Anne took the opportunity to potter about in the back garden...

Meanwhile, indoors, some sorting out of DVD's, following the unmentioned purchase yesterday of  Volker Schlöndorff's film of Günter Grass' novel "Die Blechtrommel", "The Tin Drum", took place, to the sound of also bought yesterday and 100th CD if 2018, "Bob Brookmeyer and Friends"...

A downloaded Tangerine Dream covers album was also surprisingly good...

Consequently, re the DVD sort, these to the Cancer Research shop, before some shopping and out to my mum's...

She is doing fine after her latest 3 night stay at the Royal Infirmary...

Home around 3:30 and some more listening to new stuff downloaded today, Reeves Gabrels sounding uncannily like Bill Nelson of Be Bop Deluxe...

Meanwhile, Anne was busy prepping in the kitchen, Paprika Chicken...

The delicious starter of home made Chicken Liver Pate and top notch desert of Orange Chocolate Mouse had been prepared yesterday...

The Songs arrived around seven and an excellent night of food, drink and chat ensued, with the specially curated soundtrack providing background - hence the rather large playlist today - the selection method was thus:-

All tracks played in podcasts since 2014

Of those, no classical or jazz (to avoid jarring)

Of the remaining tracks, only those with a duration of between 2:30 and 4:00

Of those, hit singles and reasonably well-known/subjectively good, tracks

In all, the 123 song playlist (on shuffleplay) lasted almost 7 hours, including an hour pre-arrival and an hour post departure...

The evening flew by and was so good, I forgot to document it with some pics...

Late on, upstairs sampling the sound (at low volume) of the new PA, the discussions turned to my artworks and ambient music - it was good to have someone take an interest...

Ali was intrigued by the 24CD box set of "Morphinecodex" of which I now only have my own reference copy - but I gave her away one of the three remaining books of the paintings which accompanied the set...
