The views from the office on the first day of February...

Out for rolls...

...and breakfast at home...

...and out into the best day, weather-wise...

Today we were visiting the castle...

...the walk up to which, provides excellent views...

A cruise ship was in port...

There were cats at the top of the hill...

More of them later...

In we went...

...first, taking in the exhibition on the history of Malaga...

The evolution of playing cards...

Out into the gardens and onto the battlements...

More top notch views ensued...

A much needed rest at the cafe...

Freshly pressed orange juice and tasty coffee...

Surprisingly, as elsewhere around Malaga, a distinct lack of rip off pricing...

...which was good...

Onward...

The Pompidou Centre - a target for later today...

Suddenly, a bird of prey swooped overhead...

...but was soon seen off by a flock of seagulls - not the group...

We continued with our site seeing...

Only from this angle do you get the full picture of just how huge the cathedral is....

...and back to where we began..

...and the cats...

...and out...

...and down the hill towards the Roman Theatre...

...and into that for a wee seat...

...and a rest...

...before going into the Palace which was built on top of the old Muslim fortress dating from when the Moors ruled this area of what is now Spain...

We recalled our visit here in 2005, when we came to Malaga for the day from Nerja...

Another rest, this cafe not quite as inviting as the one we visited this morning...

...but welcome nonetheless...

Then into town and a Tapas bar for lunch...

...including a fine portion of fried white anchovies...

A walk to the port - there was some parrot business being attended to...

...and into the Pompidou...

I will let the works do the talking but there's a reasonable summary of matters here...

This large head/nose span round whilst humming, in a very low key but annoyingly persistently, "The Lambada"...

It must be torture for the staff to listen to it all day...

Hey, is that me?

In all, I found it to be the best of the three exhibitions, although it just pipped Picasso and no more - but then, I'm a sucker for Modern Art of course...

The Thyssen was good but a little less my cup of tea than the Pompidou or Picasso...

A welcome coffee by the port ensued - again, surprisingly, no rip off prices...

Good views as the sun went down on our last evening...

Back into town for dinner...

Drinks first though...

...and more walking...

...before...

...patatas bravas...

...and a chicken, rabbit, pork and mushroom paella...

..and home for the ubiquitous blocking of our ears to the noise through the night...

All over bar the shouting, literally...

Today's artwork, "Everything Will Be Fine"...

Highlight of the Day : The castles...and the modern art...
