Up at six and finishing off the podcast...

Annoyingly, as has been the case for a coupe of weeks now, the internet was not functioning properly...

This was somewhat annoying...

After three hours, I used the nuclear option of last resort and reset the router...

It worked...

What did we do before the internet?

Podcast unleashed...

Breakfast at home and then, out to the Meadows Festival..

On 3 June 1978, I witnessed The Valves and The Skids (at that point just signed to Virgin) at said festival...

Scotland also lost 3-1 to Peru in Argentina that evening, the start of our reality check re possibly winning the World Cup...

Count Brodski and I also graced the (back of a lorry) stage at the Meadows Festival, as "synth-pop duo" Love Parade, in 1984...

The music was not as good today but the weather was fine...

...and there was much trawling around stalls of little interest to the Exec Producer...

Some economical but space taking up purchases were made...

I maintained my stance, in the face of a possible massive intake of extremely cheap CDs, of limiting myself to items which might make my top ten of the month...

A quick lunch and back to the car...

Out to Loanhead to pick up my mum's post and some new books for her to read...

Then, to the infirmary...

My mum was in good spirits and buoyed by cards and a letter from chum Pat, a visit to whom, in that Paisley, has now had to be postponed for a second time...

Much to mum's chagrin...

But she soon cheered up...

We did, however, find one correspondent's assertion that my mum never complains about anything a little hard to believe...

As did she...

The Exec Producer executively produced information surrounding finances whilst my mum's away from home...

I will return tomorrow...

Took Anne into town to meet up with Lynn for a night out with the Illegal Eagles at the Playhouse, tasty Italian beforehand...

I returned home to listen to the new purchases, start a catch up on "Supernatural", have toast for my tea and compiled a playlist of every 7" single I purchased in 1974, according to my diary...

Also downloaded a selection of very good music by new to me Polish jazz pianist, Leszek Możdżer, recommended by chum Marta...

A lift up the road late on for Anne, she and Lynn having very much enjoyed the Eagles of the Illegal variety...

Young Tiger popped into the house and made himself at home as we arrived back..

Eventually, as we prepared to retire, well after midnight, we had to put him out the window...

A good day...

Highlight of the Day : New CDs for little outlay...
