The day of the doctor and the ankle...

Playlist
Lou Reed - Rock'n'Roll Heart
Lou Reed - The Bells
Lou Reed - The Blue Mask
Jacques Loussier - Play Bach No 1
Boyce - Eight Symphonies Opus 2
Bill Frisell - East West
Tangerine Dream - Livemiles

Awoke very early, 5 am, but snoozed, listening to Lou Reed...

Breakfast at home on the 50th Anniversary of Dr Who - which is also the 8th Anniversary of my ultimately (along with being too old and too fat) football career ending ankle break...

Longjohns on and out, driven by Anne...

...to Tynecastle for Hearts v Ross County - enjoying hospitality as guest of a firm of solicitors...

Met with chum Spike in the Tynecastle Arms pre 12:30 start - he was also attending but at a different table...

The JTs twice went behind but a 2-2 draw the final outcome (Queens went down 2-1 away at Raith)...

Ross County took 22 minutes to become first scorers, an occurrence which was one minute late enough in the game to ensure my betting on the day resulted in a very slight uptick of finances...

A four course lunch plus a probably un-needed pie at half time...

Yum...

Here, Hearts' second equaliser...

Post match interviews of the goal scorers, Callum Paterson (complete with Movember moustache)...

...and captain, Danny Wilson...

...and Ryan Stevenson, to whom Hearts' second goal was originally credited prior to the Ref clarifying...

Chum Spike ended up winning a bottle of champagne...

...this the photo for which he was posing in my taken from farther off pic above...

Out and a walk to Roseburn for the bus - passing a packed Murrayfield where Scotland were playing Australia but it's rugby, so no idea how it turned out...

Like this pic though, pic of the day...

Home in time for the much anticipated 50th Anniversary Dr Who Special, "The Day of the Doctor" which was, for a "Whovian" like your correspondent, absolutely superb...

After that, some other stuff which paled into insignificance although was still good - comedy from "Man Down", "Have I Got News For You" and "Live at the Apollo", on which Eddie Izzard reminded us all of just how brilliant comedian he is...

Lights out on a good day...

Highlight of the Day : Dr Who of course...
