February away...

Off to that London, with the iPhone on shuffleplay, hence the rather long playlist...

On the airport bus at 5:15 am, neither of us feeling 100% - if anything the EP is now worse than me...

Met up with brother in law Bobby and nephew Olly in the departure lounge - they were heading down to see West Ham take on Crystal Palace - the Cloudland Blue trip was for a piano recital tomorrow lunchtime and a gig in the very final tour of prog rock band UK tomorrow night...

On to the plane to London City around 40 minutes or so after Bob and Olly's flight to Gatwick had left...

A pleasant flight, with unexpected complimentary breakfast croissants and juice...

Not a full flight by any means...

Landed after a particularly hairy approach - onto the DLR and towards Canning Town...

...for a switch to the Jubilee Line...

...to London Bridge to find Bob and Olly approaching from North of the river...

Into Borough Market...

...and out the other side...

...to the Breakfast Club for our real breakfast...

Fried egg light shades impressed...

...as did the apple juice for the boy...

...and the coffees...

...but we went a little OTT and into lunch necessity removal mode re the breakfast...

Huevos Rancheros - probably a little too much if I'm honest...

Luckily we'd arrived just in time to beat the queue which was in full swing as we left...

...for a wander round the market, the Exec Producer replenishing her spice supplies...

..and Olly partaking of various pieces of free cheese...

On the way out a rather large white chocolate cookie was partaken of by the young West Ham fan...

Out past Southwark Cathedral...

...and over the bridge...

...noting the Shard once again...

..and some strange filming...

Past Monument...

...we bade farewell to the footy fans and headed towards Covent Garden, Soho etc...

Shoes and CDs were eschewed for the time being and we were too early re our arrival at the apartment...

...so went for a seat and a drink at a bar on Marchmont Street...

On the way back, we stopped in at Judd Books, where a couple of purchases were made...

Anne preferred to take to her bed for the remainder of the afternoon, so I headed back down to Soho for my second visit of the day to the various music shops...

Arrived at Piccadilly Circus just after three...

An hour and a half later, I returned having finally regained my CD buying mojo - and having noted re texts from Anne that West Ham had been beaten by Crystal Palace 3-1, Hearts had beaten Cowdenbeath 10-0 at Tynecastle, while QoS couldn't even manage one goal away at Dumbarton...

Back to Russell Square...

...and noted the purchases, City & Colour...

...Petrels...

...and Lee Scratch Perry - total outlay just eight of your English pounds...

Meanwhile, a not very well Anne had had her spirits lifted by the news from Tynecastle...

Having recharged her batteries, she was able to venture out in the evening and we enjoyed a few drinks at a nearby pub...

...before rounding off the day at a local Indian restaurant, established before either of us was born...

All told, a good day, despite lurgi presence...

Highlight of the Day : Back in that London...
