Cloudland Blue Quartet – Souvenir XX

A relaxing Saturday for Annie (other than Hearts being thrashed 3-0 by Motherwell)....

Meanwhile, your correspondent was up before six and, soundtracked by more Udo Lindenberg and ably assisted by Meg the Black Cat...

...the list of outstanding prog albums from 1967-1979 was reduced again to just over 40...

A quick breakfast and then to work on the live set now just a fortnight away...

Keyboard retrieved from the attic, I added various bits and pieces to the ten tracks which will be performed...

Once reasonably happy with those, I set about adding vocals and guitar a la doing it live...

The album itself should be ready by the summer I reckon, so fairly safe with this double sided postcard for the gig...

By the time I’d finished it was almost 6pm and Queens had once again thrown away two points by losing a goal in the dying minutes of a game, drawing 1-1 with Dundee...

A wash and brush up and we were off out for a romantic meal, walking down to the Cool Jade Chinese restaurant opposite the zoo, having, it turned out, foolishly not booked a table...

A bus back to the bottom of Crispycat Hill and to The Chinese Manor House where were advised they did have a table for two but they could only give us 45 minutes to get in and out...

Back over the road to Abida, scene of our recent celebration of Anne’s birthday with Brodski, Penny, Lynn and Ross...

They managed to fit us in and a long leisurely and tasty meal ensued...

A walk back up the hill to Crispycat Towers was followed by a quick listen through of today’s work (8 hours on a 30 minute set) followed by a typically preposterous “Casualty” storyline and “Starsky & Hutch” taking me to midnight...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Working on my music / a wee night out with Annie...
