High hopes can often be cruelly dashed...

Playlist

Up very early and managed to get a few entries of this written up and to do a slight tweak to yesterday's track, taking out one line of singing from each of the choruses...

Better...

And into the Dropbox for Sparky...

Off out at 8am - Heading to Glasgow with Anne and family for Hearts v Hibs at Hampden...

I was not going to the game - I would, instead, be mooching around the shops...

To ensure we got a seat on a bus through, we travelled first to the bus station, via an Airport bus and a tram...

...arriving at 8:25 for the 9am bus...

...the revamp was given a listen...

We were soon joined by Jane & Bob and chum Diane...

Given our earliness, on to the 8:45 bus with the quartet of die hard Jambos...

Bob in front...

...Jane and Diane behind...

Due to travelling from Edinburgh centre, it took around 45 minutes longer than normal to reach Glasgow but we were soon out and walking to our Brunch venue...

Into Cafe Gandolfi at 11, just 15 minutes early and drinks and top notch nosh enjoyed...

Black Pudding hash for Bob...

Avocado and Feta with poached eggs on sourdough for Anne and Diane...

...and eggs Hollandaise with smoked salmon for Jane...

Meanwhile, I went for this...

Yum...

Much chat about the prospects of Hearts beating Hibs - they'd never lost to them at Hampden thus far but are plagued just now with masses of injuries...

At midday out into the bright sunny November day...

...and off went the quartet on their trek to Hampden, via the Penny Farthing pub for pre match refreshment...

I took the short walk to Mono but found nothing that enticed...

Then...

...decided to go a bit off piste and walked for 15 minutes or so out to the Barras Market - hadn't been there for years...

I passed the site of the great Goose concert, almost 3 years ago now...

...and onwards - interesting to look at but, again, nothing enticed...

A walk back to the centre...

...and...

...inevitably, to Missing...

...from which, despite these thousands of CDs...

...once again, I left empty handed...

And so, at 2:30, it was time to head home...

The journey was soundtracked by Yello...

...and, on arrival at Crispycat Towers, a fourth Yello LP of the day was fallen asleep to...

Meanwhile, Hearts, after going ahead in 4 minutes, were 2-1 down at half time and, despite a spirited performance in the second half, could do nothing to change the result - and picked up a couple more injuries along the way...

Anne arrived back at the foot of the hill around 7:45 - a twelve hour day for her, including some measure of disappointment...

We ended matters with some toast, home made soup and a couple of "Lupin"...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day: Brunch with the Jambo faithful...
