Up with no real idea of what I might do today...
The new slippers are good...
Didn't feel like a Tuesday...
Some work re "Lust For Life" then, before I knew it, it was 10 am and time to visit Mary...
Along to Roseburn...
Re an upcoming hospital appointment, checking to see if her wheelchair will fit into the car if we have a couple of people on the back seat...
Nope...
Some lounging took place...
...and some wheeling about...
...and coffees and scones at the cafe...
Mary's art these days...
Leaving her to a keep fit class, we took two lampshades to the Cats' Protection shop...
Back home for lunch and putting the shades recently removed from the living and dining room into the small and back bedrooms...
Anne went to play pickleball....
I spent 47 minutes recording all the vocals for a new LP (1 take each) then, the rest of the afternoon, the early evening and another half hopur or so later on, mixing and touching up...
I'd been inspired by the shout on Sunday afternoon from Keith to do "Lust For Life"...
After working out all the chords for the band on Sunday night, today thought I might do a "GLAM!"/karaoke recording of it to let them hear me singing it...
Then, I thought about re-doing Iggy's "Funtime" (which I mentioned to them on Sunday) from the old Disco Complex/Sombre Reptiles tapes from 1982/3 "Funtime" and "Souvenirs of Pop"...
Then I thought, why not do all the tracks from those?
And so, this...
Then, I happened across something to do with Record Store Day this Friday and thought, fuck it I'll stick this out on Friday...
"Lust For Life" is the final track...
It sounds rather good, though there will probably be some remixing tomorrow...
It will make a change to do something and get it out immediately...
Which will be the same with "Disquietmusik IX", which, as yet unrecorded, is due a week later...
...followed by telly, including the last 3 of the first season of "Bones"...
This, however, was eschewed for doing the dishes...
...followed by some final "Funtime" work...
Highlight of the Day: Another new LP, my fourth this month...
