Thirty quid down the pan, not to worry...

Playlist

November gone...

Up and, after yesterday's sessions, listening to one track each from the, now, nine volumes of "Disquietmusik"...

...somebody's got to...

The machines awaited...

Like me, waiting in again, this time for the table...

...whose construction, Mozart would soundtrack...

Anne to Pickleball at 9am...

Can't reacll what I did - oh yes, added the initial files to Bandcamp for "Tweentytwentyfive: The Originals", out Xmas Eve...

On Anne's return, I drove over to Specsavers re my 16 month old specs which have started to come apart...

They super-glued them and sent me on my way...

Post lunch, after more waiting, on the table's eventual arrival, I was rather annoyed at having shelled out £30 and having waited a week for its delivery when, despite what the measurements seemed to say on IKEA's website, these two boxes would have fitted easily into the Cloudland Blue Mobile...

FFS...

Not to worry...

Off we went...

Two and a bit hours later - which would have been a lot less had we remembered our super duper automatic screwdriver thing while we were putting the table top together - oh well - it was done...

Extended version...

7" Single version...

First meal - an excellent salmon and creme fraiche spaghetti...

Yowsah!

...followed by apples and custard...

Pre apples scene...

Finished living room...

Upstairs for some work on the podcast...

My specs popped apart again...

Booked an appointment for tomorrow morning...

Weekend over, once again...

Month over, once again...

Highlight of the Day: New table - but, to be fair, that was outdone by Anne's spaghetti!...

The annual guitaring...

Playlist

A blurry start to a Saturday...

The flamingoes awaited...

I wasn't going out today...

Spent some time with a handful of the new things...

A visit from Fang...

Waited in all day for the collection of the table...

Supposedly between 9 and 3:30, with a call 30 minutes before arrival...

Nothing...

It was that time of the year again, so I set up the machines and improvised this year's "Disquietmusik", the 9th in the annual series I've been doing since 2017...

Towards the end of the fourth of seven pieces, the men arrived...

Off the table went to its new home...

Finished the recording then carried out all the treatments and the whole thing was uploaded and ready by the time it was time to order and collect the celebratory Chinese takeaway form Wong's...

...which was followed by some listening back as Anne watched "Strictly"...

Message to Mr Spark - "Have recorded "Disquietmusik IX" this afternoon - seven new guitar pieces.  While I was doing them I wasn't sure, but listening back, I am.  Out next Friday (surely can't do any worse than Funtime?).  Reversed, 16RPM and 16RPM/Reversed bonus tracks also done.

Been working hard...."

Telly this evening...

We've recently been enjoying "Madamoiselle Holmes" which I don't think I've mentioned...

"Have I Got News for You" was weak this week but Richard Ayoade was good as host...

Some "Bones" and bed...

Highlight of the Day: Guitaring again...

Another trip to the Weedge...

Playlist

Up for a Friday of fun and a huge playlist today re (a) stuff sucked in that is new and (b) stuff that I bought later today...

Having done the #NewMusicFriday thing and, as ever, having surprised myself about how much potentially great music is being released each week that I really "must" have a listen to (plus breakfast), with Anne off uptown later for a long leisurely lunch, around 9:25, I headed down the hill...

...and...

...after a couple of mooted buses to that Glasgow very frustratingly disappeared off the "buses coming" screen, I was soon on my way to the Weedge...

...and, just over an hour later, was soon arriving in said Weedge...

...to start my adventure pre 11...

On to a number 6A...

...to the top of Byre's Road...

Before heading into the road which I've not visited for a good we while, I walked back a few yards from the bus stop to the Shelter Shop, where I found these beauties...

OK the Lully was issued with a 185 page book which is missing, but 3 CDs for £2? I'm in...

The Barenboim was also £2, for a box of 5 CDs.  In all, outlay thus far stood at just £6...

Into the long street...

A further two £1 purchases at a shop half way down...

You don't often see a Glam comp with Gary Glitter on board but this was issued in 1989...

20 tracks, 18 number one hit singles...

And, a Mud comp for a quid?  Why not...

Onwards...

Oxfam always has some outrageously priced stuff...

...but, barring one, all of these were just 99p - I got the whole lot for £10...

As regards the religious works, as an atheist, I enjoy these for the music per se. I’m very glad that misplaced beliefs have resulted in a lot of great music having been written over the ages…

A walk from the bottom back to the top of the road...

...for a fairly hellish journey (due to roadworks) back to the centre...

...this, the content of my, now weighty, bag...

A quick bite to eat and, eschewing my usual haunts (Love, Missing, Fopp, Mono), I just headed back for the bus home, deciding I had probably bought and downloaded enough new music for one day...

Bus back to Corstorphine in the rain...

...and, alighting just after 3, a walk along to the White Lady...

...to meet up with an already been there since two and not drinking as Gary had the car and Bernie is no longer allowed to partake, for health reasons, Bernie and Gary for drinks and chat...

After around 90 minutes or so, the chaps departed...

Meanwhile Anne was on her way home and we managed to meet up to get a 26 up the hill...

Home before 5 and the ripping and listening began...

...along with taking the legs off the table for its (for me) sad removal tomorrow, after having been a staple in the house for a couple of decades at least - but Anne's refurb is reaching its grande finale...

Did I mention it was Friday?

Put the wee CD player through the HiFi tonight for the listening...

Nice...

...and some TV and some bed rounded off the day...

...which had been good...
