A scorcher...

To the dentist first thing...

Then the dentist’s super electric chair (not that kind of electric chair) wasn’t working, so I was let go with the promise of a further appointment...

Still scorching...

First day of a new and hopefully successful regime...

Past the cathedral to post CDs at lunchtime...

In the evening...

Soaked this morning as I decided to take a new (longer) one mile route down the hill...

A walk to FOPP at lunchtime and back added another mile and a half to the total...

Nothing purchased...

In the evening, alighted at the zoo and made the return (longer) one mile journey up the rather steep hill to Crispycat Towers...

Tonight’s “Horizon” was another very interesting programme on health by Dr Michael Mosley...

...“Eat, Fast and Live Longer” in which he looked into the benefits of fasting, discovering that a four day fast reduced his IGF (Growth Factor re ageing) by 50%...

Fasting for four days at a time proved too much for him though...

He then found that fasting on alternate days (but fasting this time meant one meal of 500 calories) had the same kind of effect...

This reduced drastically his chances of developing ageing diseases like cancer...

In the end he plumped for the 5-2 plan – fasting for two days out of every seven...

After five weeks he’d lost a stone, his body fat was down by around a third and all his other crucial numbers were considerably reduced...

Food for thought...

Late on, just as I headed to bed, a neon cat was to be found in the back room...

Highlight of the Day : More from Mosely...

J & A too received fulfilment of their order...

Ali has a book of poetry and photos out - "Sometimes Sound Stops" – top stuff...

A recent Med trip on a schooner was relived and looked spectacular fun...

At 9, it was time for J& A to make their way home...

At 10, after prepping for five days of this, footie highlights with Annie before hitting the sack reasonably early with a non-red wine intake induced headache...

Highlight of the Day : Visit from John and Ali - always great chat!
