Got directed via a Blue Sky chum to an article in What HiFi, which, in turn led me to this - I created the relevant playlist a couple of years back...
Spent an hour listening...
This afternoon, a message from brother-in-law Keith - Maureen ill so they can't go to Hamish Hawk at the book festival this evening...
And so, post a tasty chicken kebab tea, down the hill and into town...
To the University area and drinks at The Gilded Saloon...
...before heading to the Spiegeltent for 9...
We did not know what to expect but it turned out to be an entertaining hour of Hamish Hawk and two band mates paying quiet tribute to Ivor Cutler, mingling Hawk's own material with that of the Scottish poet and storyteller, of whom The Beatles and John Peel were big fans back in the day...
A further onstage interview/chat took the whole thing to around 90 minutes...
We walked back down to Princes St and got a bus home...
An unexpectedly entertaining evening...
