Well, a strange Saturday...
Did virtually nothing...
Up and wrote the diary...
...and did the dishes? Or was that yesterday?
Anyway, a goodly part of the day was taken up in the back room just playing tracks from CDs...
...of which, it's entirely possible I have too many...
These, the content of the former Living Room shelf...
Twenty discs sampled...
Sparks...
David Bowie...
Wolfredt...
Faithless...
Ivo Neame...
Fennesz...
Madeline Kenney...
Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings...
Janacek...
Al di Meola...
Honegger...
David Bowie (again...)
Deadmau5 & Kaskade...
Nigel Clark Quintet...
Zelenka...
RG Rough...
Alice Cooper (new entry at No 9 on the charts yesterday)...
Elgar...
Mozart...
...and Taylor Swift...
Then, while I perused his autobiography and a biography on him, some Miles Davis from 1972...
...an LP much misunderstood at the time but new generally viewed as a classic...
Kebabs for tea...
...and Anne's cousin playing bassoon on Beethoven's 5th Symphony, with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, at the Royal Albert Hall, a few days ago, on the telly...
A "Cold Case" - another quite depressing one (the six year old irradiated orphan cowboy), as was yesterday's (the "mercy" murder)...
Then, we started "Department Q" which is very promising indeed...
Anne hit the sack just after 10...
I stayed up working on a new LP which I'd commenced work on earlier this evening, following on from remastering "Through the Day", an album of soundscapes which I commenced on this day 20 years ago...
It was created as the first work with my then new Boss RC-20XL Loopstation, which I have never used since...
It cost £180 back in the summer of 2005 - I really ought to have done more with it...
Perhaps that can be a new project - that and the E-bow...
To bed post midnight, having created the first draft of a new thing...
So, in the end, not nothing...
Highlight of the Day : Creating new stuff out of old stuff...
