Playlist
Up late again...
...and a big playlist today, re recording the podcast, here the content this week...
Not yet recorded though...
To the cathedral for some clarinet and piano from Natahn Kenworthy and Hanna Csermely...
I've never been a big fan of the clarinet but this was good (apart from the Gershwin based piece - I just cannot get Gershwin I'm afraid)...
But the Schumann, Poulenc and Rossini were top notch...
The pair really enjoyed what they were doing...
Out at 2...
A tram to the top of Leith Walk, on the look out for "stuff"...
Drew a blank apart from a Charpentier disc for a quid in a thrift store...
On the spur of the moemnt, decided to head down to the hospice shop in Canonmills and, as has been the case a couple of times there in the pat, hit paydirt...
I think there must be an "Americana reviewer" living in the vicinity...
12 CDs nabbed at £2 a pop...
Back up to Princes St and a bus home, once again accompanied by inconsiderate young tubes...
Home and listening...
Today's haul (no doublers!)...
Charpentier, The Pines and Grant-Lee Phillips the only ones I'd heard of but my chances taken proved to be fruitful...
Anne had been out for a LLL (Long Leisurely Lunch) with sister Jane and was now not hugely but slightly the worse for wear, round at Jane and Bob's and a lift home was requested...
Off I went...
Drinks in the garden and we hung about until Kitty and boyfriend Owen arrived - here's Owen at the table, kind of...
The view from Jane & Bob's office this afternoon...
Home and made my own tea...
A "fiery Goan" curry with Quorn mince an peas as the main ingredient (apart form what was in the pouches re the recipe and a very large indeed onion...
Reasonable...
"Mastermind" then the links for the podcast recorded while a few CDs were ripped...
"University Challenge" (145) and "Fake or Fortune" further entertained...
Then, putting the podcast together and ripping concluded...
Will upload tomorrow...
Highlight of the Day: Acquiring stuff I've never heard of and it turning out to be good...
