Playlist
A one thing playlist today as all my listening was re my podcasts - awoke with the idea of editing them all, thus far, to just the 7 LPs of the day, to give me an "LPs of the Day" podcast...
Luckily, I was up early...
And so a start was made...
At 10 over to see Mary...
She is struggling along and it must be absolute hell but there is nothing that can be done...
We did our best to entertain...
It was quite warm...
My singing the line “Having a heatwave”, was met with “a tropical heatwave” from the old one...
Then, we did some digging...
It was first performed on film in “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” - which led onto a discussion about that film’s star, Tyrone Power and his unfortunate death at 44 in Madrid on the set if Solomon and Sheba, in which Yul Bryner took his place…
Coffees and biscuits/chocolate all round....
And back to her room...
We left her about to have her nails done - something she never liked - but, now, she can't remember she never liked it...
A repeat of Anne's recent very tasty soup was lunch...
At 1:30 back to researching further venues re the September trip...
Anne will visit Scarborough for the first time in 50 years...
As will I - or there or thereabouts, timewise...
Over the course of the afternoon and evening, we finished the penultimate season of "Rizzoli & Isles" - now waiting to see exactly who was shot in the final scene...
Tasty yet again re a chicken kabab based tea from Annie...
Then, to booking
On BlueSky, I find that these are the people with whom I mostly interact...
They represent just over 5% of my so-called "followers"...
But Social media posts are like Direct Mail, as far as any reaction/interaction is concerned...
While that level of interaction is much better than Direct Mail, where anything over 1% is considered a triumph...
And, unlike a Direct Mail campaign, there’s no cost (other than the withering of your very soul as you peer into the void)...
