"Well played last night. Anne noted that, although a lot fewer than usual, the Dockers people in the audience were much more appreciative than the last time we played. So, in a way, good that the naysayers were weeded out. Annoying though to find that there had been an active campaign by some members to encourage people who hadn't seen us before not to attend, especially as there was nothing on the Dockers' website or Facebook page encouraging members to go along. End of the day, we played a good gig and received loadsa spondoolies for our troubles. Farewell to the Dockers (unless we book the back room to pay what we want!)"
Updating the book of CDs - all these since 19 May...
John Coltrane enjoyed...
Inspired by bassist Keith's recent purchase - however, on writing this, I've just recalled that it was Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" he's now the proud owner of, on vinyl, not Coltrane's "A Love Supreme"...
A fine error...
I recall buying both on the same day from Dave Gass at The Other Record Shop in the very early 80's, having asked him to recommend "some jazz"...
