Weekly Playlist No 50

Welcome to the Cloudland Blue Weekly Playlist No 50...

Two hours of music from the collection of Mr CBQ and, this week, we have a massive 34 tracks which have entertained over the last seven days...

...during which time, light also entered the CBQ camera thus...

What's in store?  We kick off with a Christmas classic, followed by the original of a mid 70's US hit for Grand Funk, before moving on to some beautiful down tempo work from Wim Mertens, Durutti Column, Craig Armstrong and the Blue Nile...

Then, the first of a few new classical acquisitions, a couple of early 70's cuts, a track from the new live album from Yes and a trio from David Bowie, including the new version of "Sound and Vision"...

Jazz fusion from the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Al di Meola is followed by a couple of Lou Reed tracks from Mr CBQ's recent charity fund raising live outing with Capital Models...

More classical and jazz acquisitions, a track from Bryan Ferry's "Olympia", a tasty slice of dub from the Upsetters and the juxtaposition of some surprising prog rock from The Osmonds with Mr Sun Ra's out there space nonsense follow...

The home stretch features a track from the latest Cheryl album, with a T Rex classic from 1973 and, to bring things back to the beginning again,  we round things off with ELP's re-recording of another Christmas classic in Greg Lake's "I Believe in Father Christmas"...

Using the button over to the right, you can join over 1.3k other Mixcloud followers of these eclectic weekly musical selections...
