Up early and a final track added to this week's podcast before uploading...

And continuing the CBQ Morphinecodex advent calendar...

Breakfast at home, with these monkeys in the garden enjoying some berries...

The awaited debut album from Isaac Hayes arrived - not bad but not the best...

I'd been swithering over attending today's match between the Exec Producer's Heart of Midlothian and my own favourites Queen of the South and finally decided to stump up my £23 to go and support my team...

A lift towards the ground from the EP then a walk to the turnstiles...

I was a little early and it was, frankly, freezing...

Queens warmed up with large elastic bands around their legs - I'm sure there as a reason for this....

The Hearts fans took longer to arrive than the "Blue Army"...

Eventually we were ready to roll...

Extra space was opened up for the larger than expected travelling, singing support...

A special line up was taking place across the country to commemorate the Xmas truce in December 1914...

...before the players broke off and headed to their respective ends...

As was the case in October, Queens played well after a couple of scares in the first ten minutes...

Indeed they almost took the lead from a set piece at a free kick - only for Hearts to boot the ball up the park and their young striker Keatings to produce a superb volley to beat our keeper...

Then, much to the surprise of everyone in the ground other than the referee, the unbeaten league leaders were awarded a penalty when one of their players fell over at a corner - justice was done though as it clattered off the post and away...

At half time, other than the scoreline, the game was pretty even and indeed, on the balance of play Queens were probably just shading it...

It continued in this vein at the start of the second half...

Then, Queens too were awarded a penalty when McShane was fouled just inside the box (according to the having-a-shocker-of-a-game referee)...

Ian Russell demonstrated just how to take one, lashing the ball into the back of the net and giving Hearts' keeper no chance...

Get in!

Hearts were on the back foot now and Queens had a superb header cleared off the line by a combination of keeper and defenders...

Of course, immediately after that, against the run of play, a scrappy goal for Hearts put them back in the lead - a corner missed by everyone hit off the face of Hearts captain Wilson and flew into the net...

Undaunted, Queens pressed for a second equaliser but the inevitable happened and Hearts broke away, with their penalty misser Prince Buaben finishing off some superb footwork with a diagonal shot across the box that beat Queens keeper...

Almost all over...

And then it was as, again with Queens pressing, Hearts broke away and a fourth goal was bulletted in by Eckersly following some excellent hold up play from Billy King...

Disappointing scoreline which didn't reflect the run of play but such is football...

Hearts took their chances and Queens paid the price...

And the Blue Army, who had sung almost continuously throughout the game, taunted the home support (if you can be said to be able to taunt the support of a team that's thrashing your team) with the refrain "4-1 and you still don't sing"...

Full time...

Hearts head coach Robbie Nielsen, who has a Challenge Cup medal earned during his time with Queens, opined the Doonhamers are the best team to have visited Tynecastle in the league this season...

Hey ho, it's only a game...

I should have stayed at home and put my £23 on Hearts to win - I'd have been over £50 better off than I am now...

A disconsolate Mr CBQ was later to be seen trudging up Crispycat Hill...

In the evening an excellent Chilli from a thankfully not too triumphal Exec Producer and we enjoyed two episodes of "Atlantis" and this week's "Have I Got News for You"...

Various classical discs of a very reasonable nature, price-wise, were ordered from Amazon in an attempt at some measure of consolation - this is how I waste my money...

Highlight of the Day : Queens penalty going in - I texted Anne to say Hearts would still win...
