Two weddings and some cake, a hat and more CDs...

Playlist
Lachenmann - String Quartets
Lachenmann - Allegro Sostenuto

Another beautiful morning...

Another slightly more considered intake from the buffet breakfast and off out into the sun...

...walking through nearby Olivaer Park...

...and along Pariserstrasse to the picturesque Ludwigskircheplatz...

We continued our walk through the affluent suburb of Wilmersdorf...

Even here, there is a small concert hall...

As we approached our target, some leaves were perhaps getting a little out of hand...

This morning I spent half an hour or so browsing at this nice wee classical music shop while Anne enjoyed a coffee outside the cafe next door...

Three titles were purchased - a 2CD set by the Amsterdam Guitar Trio, a disc by the Pacifica String Quartet and a disc of music by CPE Bach...

We emerged on to the main drag at KaDeWe...

..and took the S-Bahn to...

..Alexanderplatz...

...followed by a short tram journey to...

the Hackescher Markt, where a light lunch was enjoyed...

...followed by pudding as we walked

...to nearby Monbijoupark...

After a short rest form the heat, we walked through a tunnel to the river bank opposite museum island...

...from where there was a good view of the synagogue on Oranienburgerstrasse...

On into the grounds of the various museums...

..where this young lady entertained with an unrecognised violin concerto...

...followed by a crowd-pleasing Four Seasons...

To the cathedral...

We could not enter due to a wedding inside...

So we went for a drink instead...

...where we were once again joined by a wee friend...

We noted some of the surrounding sites...

...before making our way through the art market...

..and on to a flea market on Kupfergraben...

The Exec Producer availed herself of a new hat...

..while I bought a box of 5CDs of Faure's chamber music for under 5 of your European Euros...

And so it was time once again for coffee and cake...

Very nice too, on Universitatsstrasse...

Back to Unter den Linden...

...and on towards the Gendarmenmarkt...

...with its French and German Churches...

...and our second wedding of the day...

A most impressive square indeed...

A detour to the Ritter shop...

Where I had the idea for the Ritter diet...

I have bought two sixteen square bars of chocolate...

They are now in the fridge at Crispycat...

Every time I lose a "new" pound, a can eat one square as a reward...

So, by the time I have finished both bars, I should be 2 stone and four pounds lighter than I am now...

Genius...

The bear liked it...

A demonstration on Friedrichstasse was stumbled into the midst of...

..and out the other side...

Back to the Zoo Station...

...and to the hotel...

Later on, we were out again and took the U-Bahn back to Prenzlauer Berg...

A wrap was enjoyed...

...followed by drinks at the left leaning collective, Morgenrot...

...before catching the tram and S-Bahn home

...including a longer than expected wait back at Friedrichstrasse...

But we were soon back on the Ku'damm...

..and home...

We noted the fireworks competition taking place in the far off Olympiastadion...

A good end to a good Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : Yes, everything again...
