Various implausibilities ignored in favour of enjoyment...

Playlist
William Basinski - Water Music
Various Composers - Sound and Silence : Remembering September 11
Asia - Gravitas
Elvis Presley - The '68 Comeback Special
Parliament - Get Funked Up!

Today, soundtracked by Mr Basinski and friends, initially with a recent download of the first of his two "Water Music" pieces - reminiscent of Fripp & Eno's 70's work - followed by a further WB work, orchestrated along with pieces by Golijov, Marshall and Schnittke, which can be found here on the recording made on the 10th anniversary of September 11 2001 - very good indeed...

Asia's new album caused some toe-tapping on the bus home...

After yesterday's Divine Comedy arrival, three more packages today...

...the first contained discs by Elvis Presley - who soundtracked the early evening while I ripped all the discs and whom I am newly respecting - and by countertenor Andreas Scholl...

...the second contained a couple of sought after Schubert piano sonatas...

...and the third, some funkiness from Parliament - I had some of their stuff in the 70's but appreciate it more now, even though dancing to it these days is probably not an option...

Also downloaded this programme, which enables me to stream (virtually) any film to my computer at no cost to me, though not sure what the consequences for Hollywood might be...

Was able to enjoy "Gravity" - which was very good indeed, notwithstanding various implausibilities re things happening in space...

Also tonight, watched two episodes of "Shetland" - not too bad all told but could not refrain from my usual annoying nitpicking...

To bed with Parliament in the cans...

Highlight of the Day : New streaming scenario - something else to waste my time on...
